Periodically (typically once per week, depending on many factors including weather) during the months of April through September, we will visually examine your lawn and will perform necessary mowing, trimming, and clipping control operations.
During the first (spring) and second (summer) growing seasons, we will mow your grass to a height of approximately 3+1/2 inches. During other periods, we will mow your grass to a height of approximately 3+1/4 inches.
We strive to cut not more than 1/3 of the blade during each mowing; therefore, if your grass has grown taller than either 5+1/4 inches during a growing season or 4+7/8 during other periods, we will perform multiple mowings, each timed to allow your grass to recover from the previous mowing, in order to reach the target height.
We will refrain from mowing your your grass if it has entered dormancy, a self-protective "brown" condition common during dry periods.
We will typically use a narrow (41-inch norminal) gas-powered zero-turn mower to mow large, relatively flat yard areas. We may use an electric-powered self-propelled walk-behind mower to mow smaller areas and/or areas which are too steep to be mowed using a zero-turn mower. Unfortunately, we cannot offer you a choice of mower: although development is progressing rapidly, electric-powering technologies remain impractical for many applications.
When we mow, we will use a sharp blade when mowing and will clean it after each use as part of our effort to reduce the spread of weeds. In late autumn, we may use a mulching blade so that leaves are properly cut and made part of the turf nutrients.
We will use a gas-powered string-line trimmer or electric-powered string-line trimmer to cut grass in areas not reached by our mowing.
Unless you request otherwise, we deliberately leave grass clippings on your lawn so that they become a natural part of the turf nutrients. At your request, and for a substantial additional charge, we will bag and properly dispose of all lawn clippings.
We will blow grass clippings off of hard surfaces such as sidewalks and driveways. When doing so, we will blow clippings away from ornamental and perennial beds. At your request, we will refrain from using gas-powered blowers and instead will use electric-powered blowers.
Social event remediation does not include yard waste removal & disposal: such service must be requested separately.
